“My name is Joanna Gravel, and I volunteer two afternoons a week in the Women’s Building here at the Mission. I became familiar with the mission while I was teaching at Big Valley Christian High School, and we brought our freshman class for their service day to the mission. I was so impressed with the Mission’s objective of showing the love of Christ to the least of these in such a tangible and practical way. After I left Big Valley, I became the adult education provider here at the mission where I stayed for three years before returning to the classroom. I’m still teaching, but I love the work of the mission and enjoy watching how God works in the lives of the staff and residents. Fun fact: One of my former students at Big Valley works here at the mission and now we’re working together to develop a training program for members of the New Life Program.”
These are the word of our Woman’s Program Director, Anna, about Joanna:
“Joanna is a superstar! I wish I had 10 more volunteers just like her. Joanna has help woman receive grants for schools, she is a great teacher, and she knows how to run the building when I’m not here. She is a joy to be around, and we are blessed to have her!”
Thank you, Joanna, for all your hard work and dedication to the Woman in our program. What you do has not gone unnoticed!
